Animal Abuse Arrests
On February 3, 2014 the Ottumwa Police Department investigated a complaint involving cruelty to animals. As the result of the investigation, a deceased female Boxer was seized.
Following a necropsy by a veterinarian the cause of death was determined to be most likely long term starvation.
On February 5, 2014, Amber Dawn Ramos age 29, and Andy Michael Ramos age 30 both with an address of 2525 E. Main Street Ottumwa were arrested and charged with Cruelty to Animals and Confining Animals (Simple Misdemeanors).
Both arrestees were released from jail on $300 bond.
