Animal Neglect case under investigation

American Red Cross Invites Community to Open House in Ottumwa

(OTTUMWA) Friday, February 21, 2014— The American Red Cross and Ottumwa Fire Department invite the community to an open house on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the North Fire Station. The North Fire Station is located at 4th and Wapello. The open house will run from 9:00a.m. to noon with the Red Cross providing information on disaster preparedness and volunteer opportunities. Burglary suspect arrested in Eldon

(Release from the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office) – The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office was notified on Wednesday February 19th, of a Burglary at a rural Wapello County residence.    During the preliminary stages of the investigation information was discovered that led to a Search Warrant being conducted at 703 W. Stolen Skid Loader

At 8 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 the Ottumwa Police Department received a report that a skid loader had been stolen from the Market Street Bridge construction site. The loader was located a short time later at an apartment building located at 143 Lincoln Street in Ottumwa. During the investigation it was determined that after the skid loader was stolen it was used in a burglary at 276 North Davis Street. (Ottumwa)—On a vote of 5 to zero, the Ottumwa City Council last night approved a recommendation to deny an appeal filed by an Ottumwa woman to keep her dog in the city.
