Cattle Rustling reported in southeast Iowa

Several cases of cattle rustling is under investigation by the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies say in the last three weeks they have received three different reports of young calves being stolen from farms in that county. Other reports of cattle rustling is also being reported in Schuyler county Missouri. Anyone with information about the  cattle rustling are asked to call their nearest law enforcement center.

The Iowa Supreme court has unanimously decided to review a lower court’s ruling that affirmed a former Lee County maintenance worker cannot collect 186-thousand dollars in damages awarded by a jury for being fired by the county supervisors. The city of Ottumwa could have it’s first ever railroad crossing quiet zone following tonight’s city council meeting.
