OTTUMWA — Watercolor and pen artist Susan Baer of Chariton will present a one-artist exhibition in the Indian Hills Community College Art Gallery to begin the new year.  Baer’s exhibit, titled “The Art Work of Susan Baer,” will open with a reception on Monday, Jan. 13, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.  The public is encouraged to attend.

Baer, a middle and high school art teacher in the Chariton Community School District, works with a variety of subject matter.  “Sometimes, I make on-site outdoor realistic watercolor paintings and sometimes I make these spontaneous, and almost unconscious, abstract designs,” she said.

“The Art Work of Susan Baer” will be on view until Thursday, Feb. 6.  The Indian Hills Community Art Gallery is located in the Ottumwa campus library at 525 Grandview Ave.  The gallery is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.
