Eagles Club at 109 S. Green Street has open to the public  Bingo every Thursday night from 6:30-9:30pm.

The Appanoose County Fair in Centerville will be held July 21-26th.  Activities include the Bill Riley Talent Show, fireworks, rodeos, Twin States Tractor Pull, livestock auction, demo derby, and more.  Everyone come to the fair!

The Monroe County Fair in Albia will be Thursday thru Monday, July 24-28th.  Activities include the 4H and FFA shows, tractor pull, demo derby, livestock auction, and more all at the Monroe County Fair.

Ottumwa Wapello County Recycling Center is now accepting Electronic Waste as in computer monitors, tablets, vcr's, tv's, laptops, and printers.  Contact the Ottumwa Wapello Recycling Center for more information.

The 8th annual Centerville Fire Department Car Show will be Saturday, August 2nd on the town square.  Also kids activities, poker run, food vendors, door prizes, and more.

Birmingham Volunteer Fire Department will host their 7th annual Fun Run fundraiser on Saturday, August 2nd at Pam's Place in Birmingham.  Sign in at 10am with the last bike out at 10:30am.  Dinner, auction, and music plus a 50/50 drawing.  All proceeds go for equipment for the fire department.

Our Deaf Club is looking for donations to help with a trip to Florida for the National Softball Associate Deaf.  Funds will help purchase uniforms and other expenses.  Log on to www.nsad.org for more information.

The Centerville Rathbun Lake Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to come out for Shop Centerville 2nd Saturdays on August 9th, a one day only Chamber event in which many retailers will have huge one day only sales.  Contact the Centerville Chamber for details.

The Milton Lions Club is having a baseball tournament August 9-10th at the Van Buren High School baseball field in Keosauqua.  The tournament is for anyone 16 and older.  The tournament is limited to eight teams.  Contact Mark at 641 656-4411.

2014 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, September 6th at the Jefferson County Health Care Center in Fairfield.  Race check-in at 9am and the race starts at 10am.  The fee is 30-dollars for all ages.  Register by August 26th to receive a t-shirt.  Help raise fund for Child's Life, a program that benefits sick [...]
