(Ottumwa)— An Ottumwa man accused of attempted murder did not show up for a plea hearing and authorities might have a hard time getting him to appear.
34 year old Clint Loveall was charged with attempted murder in April after police found a man with multiple stab wounds on his way to the hospital. Loveall initially claimed self defense in the case but pleaded guilty in July.
Loveall’s plea hearing was set for this week, but he never appeared in court. Online court records show Judge Judy Gamon issued a bench warrant for Loveall when he didn’t show up.
In the meantime local media received a death notice for a Clint L. Loveall saying he died at a hospital in Quincy, Illinois. Both the name and age match the defendant. So far officials have been unable to confirm whether it is the same person.
