DeHart, harold  Harold D. DeHart, 81, of Tomahawk, WI died Friday, August 23, 2013 at his home under the care of Ministry Hospice from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.  Harold was born on January 16, 1932 in Glevniew, Illinois to Delmar and Mildred (Maddix) DeHart.  He graduated from Berlin High School in 1951.  After High School he served two years in the US Army being stationed in Kansas and Korea.  He was married on April 26, 1953 to the late Virginia M. Etrick.  He later married Caren E. Funk on December 12, 1980 in Wausau, Wisconsin, she survives.  Harold moved to Tomahawk in 1955 and established the Northern View Mink Farm with his father.  Harold ran the mink farm until his retirement in 2003.  While in the mink business Harold was the founder and President of the American Fur Farm Animal Welfare Coalition and a founding member of the United Feeds Corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Caren, a daughter, Paula (Jeff Erickson) DeHart of Stevens Point, WI, a son, Ken (Lori) DeHart of Tomahawk, WI and 5 grandchildren, Heather (Elijah Beuhl) DeHart of Madison, WI, James DeHart of Stevens Point, Taylor DeHart of Wausau, WI, Haydn Funk of Washburn, WI and Ellyn Funk also of Washburn, WI.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard, and a step son, Tim Funk.

Funeral Services 11 A.M. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Rev. Douglas Harding officiating.  Visitation with family present will be 10-11 A.M. Thursday prior to the service.   Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery, southeast of Keosauqua. Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at W-5565 DeHart Drive, Tomahawk, WI 54487.
