(Burlington)— A 45 year old Southeast Iowa man is hospitalized at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following an accident late last week.

Authorities say Bradley Dale Shipley was driving a large pickup truck on Highway 16 when he stopped and got out of the truck to check on construction equipment he was hauling.  As he was checking the equipment it came loose.

Officials say Shipley did not put the emergency brake on causing the truck to rolled backwards running over Shipley.

He was airlifted to Iowa City where he is being treated.
