(Ottumwa)— Another arrest has been made in connection with a rash of car thefts in southeast Iowa over the past week.
An investigation by the Ottumwa Police Department and the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department has led to the arrest of a 17 year old Ottumwa teen. Devan Edward Harland is the latest person charged in connection of the auto thefts. He has been charged with several counts of theft.
Also arrested was 26 year old Jesse James Clawson of Ottumwa. He has been charged with possession of stolen property.
Harland is being held in the Lee County Juvenile Detention Center while Clawson is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 cash only bond.
Also arrested in connection with the car theft operation were Cody Surber of Ottumwa, and William McCarroll of Ottumwa.
