Appanoose County Tourism Receives $10,000 Iowa Tourism Grant

Centerville, IA – PACT (Promoting Appanoose & Centerville Together) is excited to announce that it has been awarded $10,000 in funding from the Iowa Tourism Office, the maximum amount possible through the grant program, to support the “Discover Appanoose County:
Missouri’s Gateway to Iowa Living” campaign. This recognition highlights not only a strong application but also the tremendous potential Appanoose County has in attracting out-of-state tourism.


“This grant allows us to take a bold step forward in marketing Appanoose County as not just destination for Missouri visitors,but also a place they might consider relocating to,” said Delaney Evers, Executive Director of PACT, the organization that oversees Appanoose County Tourism.

“Being awarded the maximum funding speaks to the strength of our vision and theincredible potential our community has to attract both visitors and future residents.

Is especially proud of the work the Appanoose County Tourism Committee has done over the past few years to position our area as a true tourism destination and a welcoming place to call home.

Their made it easier for Appanoose County to shine on a state level and to be recognized as a worthy recipient of this funding.”
The “Discover Appanoose County” campaign will feature digital billboards in northern and central Missouri, a dynamic social media advertising strategy, and the creation of a dedicated landing page on the PACT (Promoting Appanoose & Centerville Together) website. These efforts will spotlight the region’s natural beauty, outdoor recreation opportunities, and affordability, emphasizing its unique qualities as both a tourist destination and a welcoming place to call home.
This campaign aligns with Iowa’s strategic goals of using travel to grow the state’s economy and attract new talent.

Appanoose County’s proximity to Missouri and proven track record of drawing out-of-state visitors positions it as a key player in increasing Iowa’s tourism footprint and vitality.
The campaign will launch in early 2025 and run through October, focusing on boosting local tourism revenue and enhancing the county’s reputation as a year-round destination for travelers potential residents.

It will also emphasize Appanoose County’s appeal as a premier location for hosting social events, with its numerous wedding venues and lodging providers offering options for memorable gatherings.
