OTTUMWA—OHS will host a back to school event on Thursday, August 15 from 5-8 p.m.

The Bulldog Block Party will include an Extracurricular Fair from 5-6 p.m. on Bulldog Blvd. (Second Street). Activities will include a dunk tank, car bashing, obstacle course, face painting, and free food.

At 6 p.m., Principal Mark Hanson will hold an informational meeting for parents in the OHS auditorium. Parents and students can meet their teachers in the OHS cafeteria from 6-8 p.m. Teachers will provide information to parents on how to help their student succeed. Parents and students can also sign-up for a raffle drawing. Prizes include a television, iPad, gift cards, etc.

“The OHS Block Party was a great success in 2012 and we look forward to this year’s Block Party with great excitement,” said OHS Principal Mark Hanson. “Over 700 people attended last year’s block party. Our goal for 2013 is at least 1,000 people. The Block Party is designed to be a family night, with a great supper, lots of activities, a chance to meet the OHS staff, and win some great prizes. I urge all OHS families to attend. The event is free and open to all OHS students and their parents.
