(Ottumwa)— Three youths from Eldon are in hot water following a burglary in Eldon on Christmas.

The Wapello county sheriff’s department received a report of a burglary at a home in Eldon.  As a result of an investigation deputies obtained several search warrants.

Arrested in connection with the incident were 17 year old Jacob Duffy and Levi Rupe of Eldon.  Both have been charged with Third degree burglary.  In addition 16 year old Dustin Howard also of Eldon was charged with Accessory after the fact.

The investigation revealed property stolen was reportedly dumped under the Cliffland Bridge.

Monday the Wapello County sheriff’s department and the Ottumwa Fire Department were able to recover some of the stolen items from under the ice.

An investigation into the incident continues.
