(Ottumwa)— Some much needed improvements to Pennsylvania Avenue from Brentwood Drive to Jefferson Street will come one step closer to reality following Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

The council will consider a recommendation that calls for an agreement with Iowa Appraisals & Research Corporation of Des Moines to provide appraisals for the purchase of right of way and easement needed to complete improvements to the street.

Pennsylvania Avenue phase two calls for widening the street and will required the purchase of right of way.

Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the city council will consider a resolution that calls for approving the reallocation of 54-thousand dollars in CIP funds that will be used for the North Court reconstruction project from Albany to Maple streets.

The CIP funds became available after the Eisenhower Bridge Project came in at 54-thousand dollars under budget.

The meeting gets under way at 6:30 in the council chambers of City Hall.
