(Mt. Pleasant)— Two people from southeast Iowa were injured Wednesday afternoon on East Washington and South Prairie in Mt. Pleasant.
The Iowa state Patrol says a car driven by 85 year old Betty Lou Binning of Mt. Pleasant was westbound on East Washington Street, while a motorcycle driven by 23 year old Joshua A. Bradley of New London was eastbound on East Washington, when the Binning vehicle initiated a left turn onto South Prairie Avenue but turned into the path of the motorcycle. Both vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes. The impact caused the Binning vehicle to rotate counter clock wise and strike the left rear of an SUV driven by Jason L. Burgus of Winfield, Iowa. The impact caused Bradley the driver of the motorcycle to be thrown coming to rest on the roadway.
Injured were Binning and Bradley. Binning was taken to the Henry County Hospital in Mt. Pleasant for treatment of injuries, while Bradley was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
