(Ottumwa)— Authorities in the Ottumwa area are on the lookout for a convicted sex offender who failed to return from the Work Release Facility.

The Iowa Department of Corrections says 29 year old Kevin Waldron failed to return to the facility Monday night after work.  Officials say he also removed his electronic monitoring device.

Waldron was serving time for third degree sex abuse conviction.  He began serving his sentence in 2006.

Officials say Waldron is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.  He is five foot six and weight 161 pounds.  He has a tattoo on his neck.
